How we check licenses
Every listing on Texan HVAC Pros shows the company's Texas air conditioning and refrigeration contractor license from the public record of the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR), together with the date we checked that record.
What we check
- The license number, class, endorsement, status, and expiration date in the TDLR public record.
- The company's own website, Google listing, and review profiles, so we can show contact details as the company publishes them.
- Whether these sources agree. When they disagree, we say so in a heads-up note on the listing, quoting the facts from each source.
What the license line means
Wherever you see a statement that a license was checked, it uses the exact line from our records, for example: "TDLR license record checked on 2026-10-17." The date is the day we reviewed the state record. Check the contractor license record and the date we reviewed it before you hire.
License classes in plain language
- Class A covers systems of any size.
- Class B covers cooling up to 25 tons and heating up to 1.5 million BTU per hour.
If a listing shows a different class in the data, we show the class exactly as the record states it.
Keeping records current
We re-check the records on a regular schedule and after corrections. If a license's expiration date passes before a refresh, we stop presenting that license as current on the listing and link to the official TDLR record so you can check the latest status yourself.
Check the official record
Every profile links to the official TDLR record for that license. Public records change; the link takes you to the source.
